Problems I am having: addiction to SHOPPINGGGG
If I haven’t mentioned this before, my school is on the same street as literally the best bargain clothes shopping market in Delhi. It’s like thrifting on crack over there. I LOVE IT. You have to make sure the clothes don’t have stains, holes, are missing buttons, or are weirdly sized, but most of the stuff there is overstocked items. So it’s pretty great. I’ve gotten a couple real nice items. The shopping here is better than anything I found in China and marginally better than Taiwan because everything was SO TINY in Taiwan haha. So, today I picked up this shirt and I know I’m kind of late really late on this trend (denim shirt), but I still really like it. And this one is Sooooo cozzzyyyy. It’s from the Gap (not that I’m a brands person), soft denim with a nice weight to it (sorta in between a shirt and a jean jacket) and I got it for pennnieees. Ok, not actually pennies but 4 USD. Not too shabby I’d say. I wanted a slightly lighter wash, but all they had was XL. The necklace I’m grabbing is a kind of a brass feather thang. And it was less than a dollah. HOLLA. See what I mean—problems. The brass cuff was a gift from my daddy, bought for me at Janpath Market near Connaught place in central Delhi.
I plan on making a post specifically about this market and bargaining. Maybe comparing the bargaining experiences I’ve had in various countries? It can be pretty interesting. Some people feel bad that they’re ripping off the seller, but my motto is, they wouldn’t sell it if they weren’t making a profit. So, if they’re willing to give it to you at that price, then you’ve done nothin’ wrong! Anyshwayz, more on my bargaining advenures later. Off to Hindi class!
*edit* coffee shop denim top COZINESSSS. ps-craving a REUBEN SANDWHICH FROM the crappiest best 24hr diner ever, THE BROADVIEW
*edit 2* Can I just promote this blog for uno second: http://girlwithcurves.tumblr.com/ I’m OBSESSED with her. Multiracial? Long curly hair? She has a nose ring?Carries weight in her hips/legs? We’re like the same person. (minus the nose ring, but everyone knows i’ve been wanting one!) Ok, we’re not the same at all really, but she’s awesome! She also had two ceremonies when she got married—-ONE where she wore a SARI and got totally decked out (her husband is Indian). And she’s all about dressing your body shape. curves ‘fo life.
